Teacher Service Commission
 
Introduction
According to the Education Act 2028 B.S. (Sixth amendment) His Majesty's Government, Ministry of Education and Sports established National Teacher Service Commission for the permanent appointment and promotion of the teachers of public schools. The other important function of the commission is to provide Teaching License to those who are eligible to have license. This commission was established as "National Teacher Service Commission" with one chairman and three members and a member secretary, in the beginning on 8, April 2000 (2056 Chaitra 26).
Now, according to the provision of Seventh amendment of Education Act, 2028 B.S. there are one Chairman and two members in existing commission. The commission has authority to formulate different committees at district and regional levels for the effective and comfortable performance of their works. The following are the tasks, duties and responsibilities of the commission according to the 2057 B.S. regulation of the commission.
Functions
  • Recommend teachers for permanent appointment and promotion.
  • Suggest the Ministry for improving conditions of teacher service and facilities.
  • Prepare curriculum for teacher selection and promotion and conduct examination activities.
  • Provide teaching license to successful candidates,
  • Supervise and inspect activities according to the rules and regulation of the commission.
