Central offices under the Ministry of Education and Sports
Various functional offices under the Ministry of Education and Sports have been instrumental in achieving the educational goals set by the country. These offices are established in order to institutionalise the specialized technical functions of education development as well as to ensure efficiency in educational development in the country. These constituent offices, functioning as the technical wings of the Ministry are:

Department of Education
The Government of Nepal established the Department of Education under the Ministry of Education and Sports in 1999 (2056). It is located at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. Curriculum Development Centre
The Curriculum Development Centre (CDC), established in 1971, is an apex body under the Ministry of Education and Sports for the development of education materials. The main objective of this Centre is to develop, implement, supervise and monitor the school curricula (School Level Curriculum Structure and Weightage), textbooks, and education materials.
